Red Wing Shoe Company, founded in 1905 by Charles Beckman, is named after the small Minnesota town where it manufactures a range of rugged boots and shoes. Initially supplying boots to doughboys during World War I, Red Wing quickly became a household name across the United States. Their safe and hearty boots were designed for factory workers, farmers, and outdoorsmen. Still privately held and family-operated, Red Wing continues to handcraft its boots in Minnesota.
In 2008, they introduced Red Wing Heritage, reviving styles from their archive. These boots, made to the same exacting standards as their work boots, are now a gold standard for men’s footwear worldwide.
